Nkwali Camp is located on Robin Pope’s private land, overlooking the South Luangwa National Park.
The land is superb game viewing country, with a beautiful area of ebony woodland and open grass plains. Elephants often cross the Luangwa, seen from the bar, or come to the waterhole near the thatched dining room.
The spacious A-frame chalets have woven bamboo walls with plastering on the inside and a thatch roof making them cool and spacious, each with a view of the river. Each chalet has its own enormous semi open-air en-suite bathroom. Thick cotton towels and an assortment of branded toiletries are a luxurious touch. One double, four twins and a honeymoon/family suite able to accommodate a maximum of 12 guests comfortably. The common areas are also breezy and spacious.
The bar is creatively built around an enormous ebony tree and the separate dining area overlooks a small lagoon where guests often see wildlife coming down to drink.
Meal times are filled with anticipation with lots of fresh salads and vegetables. Access to the park is by boat or over the nearby pontoon which is an adventure on its own. Open throughout the year.
