Rihanna rushed to hospital
Rihanna was rushed to hospital after reportedly being struck down by illness after the Met Gala on Monday night.
The singer tweeted a photograph of herself attached to a drip after reportedly spending Monday night (8 May) partying at the exclusive bash in New York.
After a brief stay in an undisclosed medical facility, she was discharged and allowed to fly back to her home in Los Angeles.
While Rihanna has not commented on the picture, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the star has "had a fever and flu since last week and needed an IV but is fine now".
Another source told the NY Post: "She's doing great now. She was super sick. She got some penicillin and an IV, and is better."
Rihanna was forced to pull out of a Friday rehearsal of her weekend's appearance on Saturday Night Live due to "fatigue and illness" – but managed to pull through and perform her latest single Talk That Talk.
In recent weeks, she has also been travelling the globe promoting her first film role in Battleship.
This is not the first time that Rihanna has collapsed as a result of her hectic schedule.
After she was admitted to hospital in Sweden and forced to pull out of a show in October last year, doctors were worried that the star was "overdoing it".
At the time, a source told The Sun: "Rihanna is running on empty but she's still been going out drinking and living it up.
"She doesn't have any down time where she can completely relax. She spends most of her time in the studio, on stage or in clubs. Doctors are worried she's overdoing it.
"She needs to take some time off. Otherwise she'll be vulnerable to more illness."
