HARARE, Zimbabwe (AP) — Zimbabwean police say a bus driver failed to stop for the president's high-speed motorcade, resulting in a crash in which one bus passenger was killed.

Police official Martin Chari said Tuesday the bus driver did not heed the sirens of President Robert Mugabe's cavalcade on Sunday.

State media says 15 people were injured in the crash between a police escort car and the bus.

It was the third crash involving Mugabe's motorcade in the past two weeks.

Mugabe was returning from one of his homes west of Harare on his way to fly to a U.N. summit in Brazil.

On June 6, a motorcycle escort hit and killed a vagrant crossing the highway. On the same trip, a truck burst a tire and overturned, killing a presidential military guard and injuring seven others.
