The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation-ZNBC requires three hundred million dollars to be recapitalized.

ZNBC Director of Engineering and Technical Services Malolela Lusambo says this is because most of the equipment at the national broadcaster is old and obsolete.

He was speaking when a Parliamentary Committee on Tourism, Information and Broadcasting Services toured facilities at ZNBC.

The Parliamentary Committee on Tourism, Information and Broadcasting Services was at ZNBC to learn about the challenges the national broadcaster faces in covering elections.

And Director of Programmes Kenneth Maduma says during an election there is a risk of the ruling party trying to use its position to advance its election prospects.

And Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Tourism, Information and Broadcasting Services Kabinga Pande has urged journalists to be professional in their work.
