Vice President Guy Scott on Sunday left for Blantyre, Malawi to attend the State funeral and burial of late Malawian President Bingu Wa Mutharika.

Zambian High Commissioner to Malawi Billy Munyumbwe confirmed Dr Scott's program to ZANIS in Blantyre.

Mr Munyumbwe said Dr Scott was expected to arrive at Chileka International Airport on Sunday at 16:30 hours.

He says the Vice-President was to be accompanied by Patriotic Front Secretary General Wynter Kabimba, Foreign Affairs and Tourism Minister Given Lubinda, Minister of Gender and Child Development Inonge Wina and Minister of Chiefs and Traditional Affairs Emeren Kabashi.

Mr Munyumbwe said Vice-President was to later in the evening have a discussion with Malawian President Joyce Banda.

Dr Scott will on Monday join several other dignitaries at the burial of Professor Wa Mutharika at his Ndata farm in Thyolo district.

Professor Wa Mutharika will be buried at the Mausoleum that was built by himself and where his first wife Ethel is also buried.

Professor Mutharika died on 5th April after a heart attack.
