Sata mourns Chief Mpande
President Michael Sata has expressed deep regret and sorrow at the death of Chief Mpande of the Mambwe people of Mbala District in Northern Province.
In his message of condolences to Northern Province minister Freedom Sikazwe, President Sata noted that since his ascendance to the throne on January 16, 1993, the late Chief Mpande lead the way in promoting local development and upholding peace among his people and beyond.
President Sata has urged the provincial administration to ensure that the developmental projects, which the late Chief Mpande devotedly pioneered, particularly the electrification of Mambwe mission and Mambwe rural health centre are completed.
The President in a statement released to QFM News today by his special assistant for press and public relations George Chellah stated that the death of Chief Mpande will be strongly felt by all Zambians.
Chief Mpande passed away on Saturday, 5th May, 2012 on his way to Mbala Hospital.
