Train chops Lusaka man's legs
A man of Lusaka's Chipata compound has had both his legs cut-off completely by a train.
Police Spokesperson Elizabeth Kanjela has confirmed the incident to QFM News which happened on 15th May around 17:30 hours, and named the victim as Pumulo Kayenga aged 37 a security guard of unknown house number in Chipata Compound.
Ms Kanjela says the victim was identified by her elder sister Alice Kayenga of house No. 83/38 of Garden compound.
She adds that the victim is admitted to the University Teaching hospital.
In another development, two people died on the spot while nine others escaped death in a fatal road traffic accident in western province.
Ms Kanjela explains that the accident occurred yesterday 15th May around 05:20 hours at Mwandansengo area along the Kaoma-Mongu road when GMC truck registration No. ALC 9085 which was being driven by Never Dube aged 52 OF Kanyama compound lost control and overturned due to overspeeding.
She says twelve people were on board of which two died on the spot namely Kazuma Chinga aged 39 of Samukunga village, Mongu and an unknown male.
She says the accident victims are admitted to Kaoma district hospital while the bodies of the deceased are in the same district mortuary.
Ms Kanjela adds that the driver of the truck is on the run.
She has also appealed to residents of Mazabuka, Mongu, Kaoma and Kalabo who may have relatives among the accident victims to come forward and identify both the surviving victims and the deceased.
Meanwhile Police in Kapiri Mposhi have launched a manhunt for a 28 year old man who defiled an 11 year old girl.
Ms Kanjela says the incident occurred on 14th May, 2012 around 23:00 hours.
She says the suspect Belington Shula who is the victim's father's brother snicked into the girl's bedroom and had unlawful carnal knowledge of the victim while she was asleep, and when she woke up blood was oozing from her private parts.
