President Michael Sata has directed newly appointed deputy minister of agriculture in charge of animal husbandry Luxon Kazabu to carry a stock of the number of animals such as goats in the eastern, western, southern and north-western provinces.

President Sata says the 4 provinces have a lot of goats which can be slaughtered and sold to the Middle East where there is demand for goat meat.

President Sata notes that Mr. Kazabu should take time to make the people of southern province understand what government policies are on the country's agriculture sector especially how they can work with the government in finding a market for the meat products.

He adds that the opposition has dented the image of the government because of the bad things that some political parties have continued to tell the people in the area diverting their attention from things of national important.

President Sata was speaking at statehouse this morning when he swore-in Mr. Kazabu.
