Chikwanda asked to reveal technical committee's budget

The church has asked Finance Minister Alexander Chikwanda to be updating the nation on how much the technical committee drafting the country%u2019s constitution is spending.

Independent churches of Zambia board Chairperson Reverend David Masupha says whatever is been spent by the technical committee needs to be publicized because the government that appointed the committee was in the fore-front condemning the MMD government that the National Constitution Conference (NCC) had spent a lot of money.

Reverend Masupha says the Patriotic Front government should disclose the amount of resources being used by the technical committee for the sake of transparency.

Speaking to QFM, Reverend Masupha says the PF government should not fear publicizing the budget noting that citizens are only interested to know how much is being spent because this is the last attempt the country is making to come up with a constitution that will meet the aspirations of the Zambian people.

Recently chairman of the technical committee drafting the country's constitution said the committee can not disclose the budget because it is only the ministry of finance or the ministry of justice that can only do so.
