Enala names Shepolopolo SA squad
ZAMBIA national women team coach Enala Simbeya has named a 19-player squad that she believes can reverse a 1-4 deficit in this Saturday’s decisive Africa Women Championship second round return leg qualifier against South Africa at Kanyamazane Stadium in Mpumalanga.
Simbeya, who released the names in Lusaka yesterday, said she has dropped only midfielder Chisala Musonda, who has been replaced by Given Tembo.
Zambia lost 1-4 in the first leg on May 26 and the Shepolopolo need to score four unanswered goals to qualify for the Africa Women Championship finals set for Equatorial Guinea in November this year.
Simbeya has also included a third goalkeeper Ennie Matukuta.
The team is scheduled to leave for South Africa today.
Simbeya is confident her charges will overturn the tables in the return leg.
The team:
Goalkeepers: Miriam Katamanda, Nelly Lumwaya, Ennie Matukuta
Defenders: Annie Kibanji, Anita Mulenga, Meya Banda, Mulai Wilombe, Sharon Nampemba, Lexina Lutaka
Midfielder: Musonda Sakala, Kabange Mupopo, Given Tembo, Misozi Chisha, Given Tembo
Strikers: Noria Sosala, Mwila Bowa, Etas Banda, Mwangala Kamuti and Susan Banda.
